About Elisabeth

My Approach

We already have what we need to comfortably live in this human body. In constantly changing conditions, yoga and meditation provide a deeper self awareness and self trust. My teaching supports students to cultivate this awareness, along with kindness and compassion both inwardly and outwardly.

When we explore mindfulness in both forms of meditation and yoga, we deepen our awareness of how we relate to the world around us. We start to understand that suffering is inherent but with practice we can learn to navigate these challenges with kindness and compassion. These practices allow us to open to joy and fully embrace it when it arises. Empowering us to find inner peace and resilience.

I gratefully acknowledge the many generations of Theravadan Buddhist teachers & those in other Buddhist traditions  whose wisdom and generosity in offering teachings continues to support our practice. These teachings originated in Asia with the Buddha’s teachings, specifically in Burma, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and India. This gratitude extends to my ancestors, human and animal,  and in particular Indigenous Peoples who protected and valued the earth.  I aspire to allow all their teachings to be my guide.

“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.”

My Journey

My journey with yoga began with Living Yoga and Health in 1996 where I completed Yoga Teacher Training (200 hour) in 2012. I am grateful for my connection with Arrive Yoga and Mindfulness. In 2008 my exploration of mindfulness meditation began with a 10 month training with Michael Stone. In 2022 I completed a 2 year Meditation Teacher Mentorship with True North Insight Meditation (TNI).

My practice has deepened my awareness of the interconnectedness that I share with all living beings, encompassing creatures and human alike. Practicing with the earth, guided by teachers like Joanna Macy, has profoundly affected the way that I relate to the earth.  Recognizing that I am of the earth, not living on it.

The practice of yoga and meditation, along with the teachings I’ve embraced, has profoundly enriched my daily life, equipping me with the essential tools to nurture courage and resilience.
